| I have been back for years, I just don't visit very often. If you were here more regularly, you might know that already. I'm guessing that you will log on a bit more regularly in the next few days, however. As I'm sure that's the case, I'd say me being here has already made the forum 100% busier ... |

| Right then, some of you may know me, but I'm guessing most of you won't (unless by word of mouth or Legend ) but I have come to the forums for the first time in ages tonight to find that the forum is dead. That will simply not do. When I was Admin of these forums, they were THE place to come for ... |

I missed the first one, but Janie and me sat and watched the scene in the Kabin in Coronation Street and tried not to pee. |

Slumdog Millionaire : What an amazing movie! I was completely swept away by the story, the acting, and the raw emotion. In fact, this movie just blew me away and if it isn't nominated for Best Picture of the Year at the Academy Awards, I'll be seriously peeved.
Have seen it today. It is good, but ... |

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button
Absolutely loved it. Highly recommended. It is easy to see why this will be nominated for just about everything at the Oscars. Quite a long movie at two and a half hours, but just savour every last second of it. Pure cinematic gold. |

I saw Persepolis and wasn't impressed, if I'm honest. Don't be too easily swayed by nerdy art-noir students, reactionary revolutionists and wannabe critics is all I'll say. Well gee golly mister, I don't actually get my film opinions from other people!
I have yet to see Happy-Go-Lucky as I ... |

4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days is kind of grim, but there is a sort of innate sense of hope that resonates from the film. It's hard to describe.
And I loved the animation in Persepolis, and the movie in general. That may be because I didn't read too much into it. I just thought the film was just a ... |

mmm....nope. The reason a lot of people find it depressing is that they think about it and figure that their life wouldn't have had nearly as much impact as his!
You mean that you found it depressing for that reason. I wouldn't suggest for a minute that this is the same reaction that everybody ... |

That's a real shame. I really wanted it to be good. :(
The Day The Earth Stood Still Better than the 1951 original, just. A bit more glam and a lot more shiny. Reeves is suitably one-dimensional. Handy really.
Yes Man Jim Carrey just can't say no. Quite fun in parts and genuinely entertaining ... |

In Bruges not great? *shakes head in disbelief*
I have seen Milk since making my list, which was fantastic, and would have no doubt got in the top ten also, at the expense of Tropic Thunder . Sean Penn was incredible in it. I have since seen ' The Duchess ' with Keira Knightley, which may also ... |

I find It's A Wonderful Life a tad depressing!
And you're right, it is at times, but it brings you down with the sole purpose of lifting you up at the end. |
