what you need to do
is just on the stem where you're gonna greak it
scratch it with your nail
and then it should tear where you scratched it

Does it work with any nails or do they have to be manicured/filed into a certain shape?

well mine definately aren't maniquered! but i suppose you have to have nails long enough to scratch something, other than that it doesnt matter
