How do you say it...?

Fri Oct 29, 2004 10:13 pm

Ok, this is something that has been bothering me quite a lot lately. I don't think I'm one of them, but I'm sure you know that there are a lot of PPTers who have entirely unpronouncable usernames. I'm sure you know I what I mean. So the question is, if your username contains or consists of an unsayable word or words, HOW DO YOU WANT US TO SAY IT???

Well, I don't think mine is too hard.. but..

Matter-bug.

Just like it sounds.

Mine's pronounceable. Entirely pronounceable. Good luck with it, though. ^_^

Caesara
Say-zar-uh

Cae
Say

Very easy; yet most people get it wrong.

Mines been a hard one apparently.

A (as in Apple) hote (rhymes with coat) in - run.
Ahote Inrun

Four syllables.
Not
A hot ee in run (eek)
or A hoten run

A-HOTE-IN-RUN

*Smiles* did that help?

Caesara is acutualy a place in Israel ( spelled that way in english too), but its pronounced Kay-sar-ea.

As for my UN... No one should have a problem with it - Shift-E :)

Hmm... I've pronounced Cae's name wrong all these months. I thought it was pronounced as Kay-Sar-Uh. I guess you learn something new everyday.

As Jill once said- if you can't pronounce Dawn (actually, she said 'Jill'), you have speech problems.

Mine's pretty easy, too.

shu-POO.
On some other boards, that's often shorted to just "shap," which rhymes with "crap" and "whap."

(I'd use a schwa if I knew the element code for it, but I don't, so I won't).

Incorrect: Anything else

Ap-rih-cus.

I'll be suprised if anyone gets mine right.

exe zeh ry. (I don't know where the middle part comes in either. Probably because it was an adaption of zerai, see from the middle part? zeh ry, but I added an x instead, and got rid of the z in the spelling atleast.) From the spelling it should be exe-ry. But doesn't sound as good.

I say;

Caesara's name wrong (Like everyone else.)
Shapu's name wrong (Shape-u)
Tymapoer's name worng (Tym-a-pore)
Apricus's name slightly wrong (Ape-pre-cus.)

Hey wait...isn't the place in Israel called "Caesarea"? I remember seeing it in a map in a Bible (then coming back home and making fun of Cae with it). XP

Anyway. Yo-shee. I don't believe there's really any mispronounciations with it. ;P
