For a boy, I'd suggest a more traditional, commonly used name, such as Andrew, Mark, James, John, et cetera.
For a girl, pretty, fanciful names are awesome. You can pretty much call your daughter anything without much trouble, it seems. Sometime less traditional, pretty sounding with a pretty meaning - but the last part is just me. (I like Althea. I really, really like Althea.)
The thing is, boys with less traditional names seem to be teased a lot unless it sounds "cool". Girls with traditional names are just a bit on the boring side, but if they have a less traditional name, it's pretty and interesting. Heck, picking girls' names is a lot more fun in my opinion.
Buy your sister a baby names book. She'll have fun poring over that. Plus she can highlight anything she likes!

I don't know why, I just adore the name Mahi for a girl. And also Hannah, and the name Ilse is soooo pretty (eel-say) but I don't really like any boys names at the moment
