I've been on plenty of planes before 
Security? It's okay, but annoying when they ask you to open your trunk and you can't find the stuff that they think is suspicious/dangerous. They took away my scissors once
Food? Bleurgh. I throw away 3/4 of the stuff they give us.
Odds that you'll be stranded on an island? Just don't think about it ... even if it's one in three billion your plane just might be that one. >.<

Hehehe... I'm flying out from San Fransico at 9PM PST, to Manila (supposed to land at 10 AM two days later ._.), then after a 4 hour layover there, it's an hours flight to Bacolod. If I add all the times together, I'm not seeing a bed (or house, or sofa!) for nearly 25 hours!

Make sure you have a small bag with emergency clothes in it in case your luggage gets lost / you get delayed. I remember I got delayed for a whole day and I didn't have anything. That was a fun 24 hours. And basically what everyone else has said.
Security made me ditch my nail scissors as well. They said they wouldn't allow nail files either.

Well, it's the time! I'm leaving for the airport in about 2 hours (then I have to wait for 3... x_X), then I'm off! See you in a month evewryone!

Last time I flew on a plane, I got this realy realy tasty sandwhich, althougth I think the only reason it tasted so good was beacuse I was so hungry
