Re: Return of Dr. Sloth [Split 9]
Well, I got to beat the more difficult of the bosses at least once this time around. Looks like I'll be kicking Grundos around for a while. Considering the rate of updates... I bet this is the only step we're going to receive until next week.

Wow, I was enjoying no lag during battling, but I guess it was bound to happen.
The page either half loads or doesn't load at all.

I'm not having any lagging issues...maybe it's your internet connection?

Re: Return of Dr. Sloth [Split 9]
I have a feeling with this release of new baddies that we're not going to get a new step over the weekend.

Re: the lag:
New opponents + easier difficulty = more battles = more server drain.
Neopets is slightly sluggish for me, too.

Re: Return of Dr. Sloth [Split 9]
I've actually noticed the lag as well. It isn't severe, but it is definitely there. I'm debating how much battling I actually want to do during this step. The battles are already boring for me. I spent almost an entire week pounding the last group. I don't have the dedication of the Altador Cup to keep me going at it much longer.
I still wonder if they're going to tie in the absence of the Kreludor team from last year's cup to this plot. I think the presence of Werther confirms that we'll see a bit more of the JttLI characters or setting.

I have very slight lag, but nothing horrible.
I sure wish I had more free time to battle, battle battle...I'm not sure I'll be able to get as many as I can for my pet's stats before the challengers disappear (not that my battle pet has great stats, anyways).

I never before have been so happy to have the Quench ability. You just have to manage to use it on the turn that they send the clockwork grundo at you, and then it blocks almost all of the damage from it. ^_^

Good tip, thank you.

I'm noticing every time we see Paralax we see less and less clothing. Each time we see him it seems like there is a bit of clothing left on the ground. Like one time they took his breathing mask off. Then the next time in this new comic they seem to have taken his jacket off and thrown it on the ground outside his cell. So anyway....
if no one wants it...
I'll take it...

The also seem to have coincided the update with a site update, namely the trusty old yellow menu bar (items, shop, genie, etc.). Now it's all text...
Gah! It's awful! I'll never be able to find anything anymore!
On the plus side, I can always take it out in whack-a-staff and on the new battledome opponents.

Burrow blocks as well.
A good strategy so far for Virtupets Militia has been:
1. Weapon, Weapon, Sink (grunos rarely come out on 1st turn) OR if you have a freezer:
1a.Freeze, Weapon, Berserk.
2. Weapon, Weapon, Burrow (a good chance of the clockwork grundo)
3. Weapon, Weapon OR Heal (if needed), Quench (another good chance of the clockwork grundo).

Re: Return of Dr. Sloth [Split 9]

I've made out the name Major Zeg Ace Blackfin on the side of his spacecraft. I wonder if he will make an appearance in the comic. He's cool.
There are so many characters that probably won't make an appearance, but I guess that leaves their story open for the Neopian times at least.
I find the idea of sharks in space very humorous.
I'd like to find out more about this guy and the mysterious cloaked lupe.
