I've got it.

The dude everyone thinks fell off of the boat?

Didn't.

Screamed, and pitched a barrel off of it.
Ran and hid in the bottom of the ship.
Waited for it to dock.
Escaped.
Inflated his rubber flizzardo floaty.
Swam to the haunted woods.
Married Edna.
And became the Esophagor.

k...don't know when this happened, and I've read this thread, but I might have missed it, but the boat is in the Lost Desert now...again, sorry if this is a repeat

Yeah, because you know, everybody loves Edna, she's so generous and all. xD:roflol:

But maybe he DID want them to think he got shoved off. I don't know why though, just to get them off his tail so he could go after treasure by himself without them following/getting half?

anyways

he might have done it to make them all think he jumped off to go look for it, letting someone else from the boat go look for it without anyone being suspcious. Or he did it to make them search around the world trying to find him, and when they get near the location where the treasure is, he simply jumps off at the last minute, and then goes to get it.

did TNT reveal what the crew is trying to do, other than find the dude who jumped?

PS: Old edna was teh seksikas

Don't worry, this plot is slow-going. But if you read through the actual thread (not just page of posts) you would notice that in the first post of every new thread (of pages of posts) is listed the location of the ship.

No worries, I know the feeling! I have gotten to the point with this plot that I just read the last pages of posts instead the 3 pages before.

By the way, do we even know IF they are even looking for treasure?

The next Random Contest should be to describe what happened to Hoban, lol. But I agree that he is probably hiding in the ship. I'm really hoping that as the plot progresses it will involve "our" character getting a ship of our own or getting on the cyodrakes' gaze.

Correct me if I'm completely misremembering this but wasn't it in other plots with comics a few comics (3-5 ish I think) of setting the stage before we got to get involved?

True-and we are in our 4th now and still nothing! We still haven't figured out what TNT is trying to make us do? Finding Hoban, get the Bonju's recipe, or find the treasure, or maybe we are waiting for a war? haha...think I'm just bored....

Something interesting in the Neopian Times editorial section (issue #195):

Now that the Maraquan War is over shouldn't we learn about that statue in the Maraquan ruins? I thought we'd find out about it during the plot but since that's over, could ya'll please tell us? - Journey12
That mysterious statue is tied up with an altogether much darker plot that will be released after the Lost Desert one. Sorry, you will just have to wait a little bit longer to find out

The statue is here if you'd like to take a look.

I wonder if this has something to do with this plot. The only other plot we know of is the Haunted Woods plot, but I'm not sure how Maraqua would tie into that. At least this plot involves the water.

Well, there are the maps in Hoban's bag, plus the map w/ the red "X" marks the spot on it. If Hoban is the navigator, it would stand to reason that he had a map to whatever they were headed for, treasure or not. Maybe he got greedy and wants whatever it is for himself. Maybe someone pushed him overboard to get the maps for his/herself. Only time will tell.....
