I completely agree with everything you said, but the limit was originally 3 in 1999. So it's not like they've never added a pet slot before. They didn't have issues with it then; I doubt there'd be so many more problems now.

If it is the server space, they should just say so. That's a good reason, if that's the issue. People would probably accept it if they said it was that. Otherwise, people are going to keep begging for this until the end of time.

I would love having the option of 5 pets. I have quite a few as it is, but every one of them is kept fed by the Neolodge, and taken care of immediately if they're sick or unhappy. However, I agree that getting that extra pet should be a perk for being on Neo for a while. 1 or 2 years, IMO. That way, older players get something extra like TNT said they would do.

If they indeed let us have one more pet in our accounts, we would not be getting only one, we'd have five more. I would love to have a new pet space, my main is filled and I'm just zapping because I don't want the lab to retire. (No, I can't move a pet because my new side is just a few weeks old)

The thought of partial pets was hilarious. It would give a whole new meaning to the Split PB if it meant your pet might become half of something different.
