Unfortnately last year I missed all the rounds except the finals and got 105wins, and 0draws and 0loses. I still managed to get a yooyu as a prize and personally I'm a football (or as Americans say soccer) fan. Football's a big part of my life and I loved that TNT put a plot related to it with good prizes. This year I'll be joining Darigan from the begining.
And a note to people for how the points are: All the points earned by every person is added up, so a side with 20000 members has an advantage over a side with 200 members. Yes it is an unfair advantage but it's there, that's why the popular teams (such as Krawk Island, Darigan Citadel, Haunted Woods) made to the upper stages.
Oh, and I'm not sure if there'll be an altador cup this year anyway, maybe the magazine was just creating rumours (although I hope not).
Oh crap! I just remembered that I left my car keys in the OTHER dimension...

Actually, the number of players was taken into account by TNT, and the points earnt were divided by the number of team members IIRC

TNT would have known some teams would be more popular than others, so would have had a way to allocate points fairly.
The Altador Cup Committee bases scores on win/loss/tie record, point scores, individual performance, and a weighted average based on team membership. Translation: A team with more players has no advantage over a team with fewer players!
I cannot see TNT releasing a blurb about the Altador Cup if they were not going to hold it again this year. Anyway it states in black and white that the tournament begins in June.
Yeah, they also said Neoschools were coming in September, 3 years ago or so Anyway, the Lost Isle plot is almost done and the Cup was end of June/early July, they can still make it.

Neoschools never started - we know the Altador Cup has been played - and played successfully.
The plot is almost over, maybe 1 or 2 updates left - leaving plenty of time to start the cup in June.
Sidenote: It gets very annoying to have Neoschools flung up everytime something may or may not happen on Neo.
Well if the Lost Isle plot is coming to an end I hope they bring out one that will last a couple months and has more to do it. Okay okay some people are slow on the uptake but the Altador plot was pretty interesting.
As for the Altador Cup for this year, I hope they do run it as I didn't have too much of a chance to participate in it last year.
Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult.
It looks as though they've replaced Tico on TM's team with a Buzz (Vaydo Pohz?), too. If all the teams are getting a facelift, I guess I can't complain too much. :p
ETA: I just realized the Eyrie that's replacing RI's Lenny appears to be Maraquan's former Left Forward; her picture's been replaced but her description is still there, and it does mention her swapping teams. Interesting. >_>

Hi Blanche, welcome to PPT
We were presuming it was going to start on the 1st, but at least now we have some proof:
Neopets is also bringing back the successful Altador Cup global gaming event throughout the month of June. Launching June 1, the second annual site wide tournament brings the global community together to choose one of sixteen teams and compete for the ultimate Yooyuball championship, a fantasy sport loosely based on a hybrid of soccer and lacrosse. Players will earn virtual trophies and prizes. As many as 10.4 million unique visitors participated in last year's Altador Cup, where the Haunted Woods team took home the trophy. The Neoboards are already buzzing in anticipation of this year's challenge.

Shenkuu has a team this year - TNT will have to either drop a team or they are upto something else!!
