Another weird one... It's like they have several ideas and decide to combine them all into one jumbled mess, maybe? I thought I was following it... boy comes home, gives present to one sister, other sister feels left out... "surprise" (present was in his pocket)... and then it added the weird part of the brother frowning (I guess because the living room was messy), and the two sisters just laugh.... It's like two stories in one, and it makes me wonder how they're related. Is the smaller present supposed to be a punishment because the sister who received it is the one who messed up the living room? But we shouldn't assume the smaller package is a worse present just because of its size (especially when its size is the size of a jewelry box). Keep it simple, JS. A vignette should be brief and not too complicated.
