I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it but is the neopian times worth writing? I want to try and write an article about petpet cannonball but I'm not sure whether I should or not!

Depends whether you want the trophy or not really, there's no other reward (other than being able to shove it others' faces)

For special issues they sometimes give out special prizes like commemorative NT coins and such. Most people don't do it for a prize or trophy.

Give it a shot, at the very least it's a great way to hone your writing skills and push your creativity to its limits. It is actually a great way to make some nice friends People who write for the NT are really cool

Uh ... I'm not sure if it's "worth" writing for or not. You get a trophy and maybe a few pieces of fanmail or hatemail (though you mostly get these with stories rather than articles o.o.) But I guess if you want your article in there, you should go for it o_o

If the game guide will help others, go for it. Game Articles aren't the most "reply friendly" topics in Neotimes, but people will read it. I only got a few comments when my Perattack guide came out.

Neotimes is usually just for the fun, since there's no major rewards.

Be over 1k words...game articles are a PAIN to get into Neotimes.

It is kind of hard to get into the Neopian Times. They get a lot of submissions and they usually accept the best written and most original articles. It is a bit easier to get a Series or a Comic published.

I've gotten quite a number of rejections before I get my avatar. Don't be discouraged by them.

The first time, youll get a trophy for it..

after that.... its allll the same. Ive written many-a-comic, and the first couple times it was cool... because i got a trophy, but after that.... id say, not really worth all the effort. Its purely for personal satisfaction, I say.

Just been rejected. Says my story got too many gramatical error. Any suggestions on how I can improve on that?

You could either brush up on your English classes, or get a friend to look over it and proofread for you

Game articles, well, you just have to hit allthe points of the game, controls, how you play, tips and tricks to improve, and even the points system.

My artcle got rejected twice for different reasons:
1) Wasn't in the 1.2k limit, though is SAYS 1k is the limit <_<
2) Too many game articles about it was submitted...oh gee wow! Someone got ONE Pterattack article in before me <_< They could have just held it for the next week like they do with comics

To Ira: Just have someone proof read it. I have different people check my grammar, since mine isn't that good. Kinda good to have a grammar buddy, or just a friend willing to help.

I find doing the comics just to be a great hobby on the site. Keeps me busy drawing neopets art when I'm bored.

Series are those storys that say part1,part2,part3 etc.
Each part gets published into the neopian times weekly.
Or whenever the new issue comes out.
