Hello all,

I'm having an issue with my CD. I wish to upload the CD's tracks onto the computer. Apparently, when uploaded, the tracks aren't in a MP3 format and I would like them to at least be converted into the format.

Any methods on doing it?

You might consider using CDEX, which is what I use to rip audio files from my CDs.

When ripping using Windows Media Player from CDs I think they convert automatically - if that's what you did then just listen to shapu :P

Sorry about the late reply, but I downloaded the program and I managed to convert the track I needed to a MP3. After that, I don't know how to take it out of that program to place in my "Shared" folder in my computer.

Could you help me on that?

If you go to your local disk (C:), and then go to program files, and find whatever the program is, and then poke around for a while, you should be able to find it.

what i usually do to convert music files is make an html file like this one:
Quote:
<a href="file:file location">a</a>


and then just save that target as, and make the filename extension whatever it needs to be

Well I looked around and I couldn't find the track I ripped.

Maybe I did it wrong?

If you're simply copying tracks from the CD (Windows Explorer), you'll probably end up with an elaborate equivalent of a shortcut to the CD. You need to use a program to create MP3s from a CD.

You can change Windows Media Player settings to make it rip CDs to MP3s rather than the native format. Tools -> Options -> Rip Music -> Rip Settings -> Format.

That doesn't actually convert the music data contained in the file -- it just changes the extension to whatever.
