I keep hearing about a strength boost at lv 125, what are they talking about?

Every few levels, a pet's damage multiplier increases. That multiplier takes the pets strength and "multiplies" it (hence the monniker) to determine damage.

Yep, at certain "boosts," a pet gets stronger and its weapons will do more damage. In between boosts, damage doesn't change (you can train your pet from 85 up to 124, but he won't do a single point more damage until he hits 125).
