i'm pretty sure every march 3rd they just cancel the news due to lack of interest, just one of TNT's joke type deals :)

Haha, every once and awhile I cancel a day due to lack of interest. I actually did it today (mostly because it's Gnorbu day and I wanted to devote the day to loving my Gnorbu babies :P) But I don't think there was anything there to begin with, I think they're just fooling around, declaring a day off, Silly TNT.

It's from a couple of years ago, back when Neopets was relatively new. March 03rd one year, TNT forgot to put out the news on that date; since then, they've made a running joke of it, not putting out news or updating the site at all on that date. :)

It's one of TNT's big jokes. Back a few years they just cancelled it and didn't do any news or anything. Click the link below for the first time they did it:

A few years back, they did intend on making the news update at a regular time each day, but that required a day of no news to get the system working on schedule, so they didn't have a March 3 update. The system fell through after a day of it practically, but for laughs, they kept not releasing news on March 3 each year due to "lack of interest"
