Favourite "little kid" book?

OK, I know I'm not the only one who still has books laying around from when I was much younger. Actually, they're currently somewhere between PA and England, but I had to keep them. (Had to ship all my books, and I am super paranoid about them getting lost, I will feel so much better when they get here...but as I have 3 bags to be worrying about, it'll be a while.)

So...what was your favourite? And what's your favourite now? I always was (and still am) quite fond of Goodnight Moon, though I lost my copy long ago. I love The Giving Tree now, though I didn't like it quite as much when I was younger. The Polar Express is great, although the same as The Giving Tree. Umm...I'm trying to remember which ones I insisted on saving. I'm not sure, but The Giving Tree is definetly a major one.

Now, c'mon, don't make me feel silly, I know you all have a special place in your heart for that one book from when you were little...

The serendipity books. "Morgan and Me"... "Morgan and Ewe"... theres just so many of them "Catundra..." "Serendipity". Yup. They're great books. And they had the best illustrations.
*whimpers* I just wish I could find them to buy; because i'd buy the whole set.
They're bright, they're cute; and they've all got a neat... kinda moral.

Ummm...there was this book about a Racoon mom and her baby going off to school. The baby didn't want to because he'd miss his mom. So she kissed his hand and said something like think of that when he missed her or something and she said it would never wash off..from how I word it it sounds really stupid,probably,but it is such a cute story. It helped me because I had (Hey,still have) the same problem. :oops:

Berenstein Bears and Madeline. I grew up on those two series. Still have many of the books.

One non-series book I really liked, and still like, is <u>The Tapestry Cats</u>. It's a really creative book about a princess who has everything, is told what to do, is told what she wants, and so on. Obviously, her life is very frustrating, as her every move is told to her by her mother. She's also incredibly lonely, so one day, her imagination creates two cats, from tapestries... The ending's quite sweet, as well.

Ooo..I love so many little-kid things-Arthur the TV show, stuffed animals (well, that's not really a little kid thing), running through sprinklers..

My favorite little-kid books would have to be The Giving Tree, The Phantom Tollbooth, and the Frog and Toad series. The Giving Tree still makes me cry-it's so simple, but so unarticulatably touching. The Phantom Tollbooth was my first glimpse of philosophy, or at least seeing the world differently. Besides-who can resist a big ticking dog? As for Frog and Toad, I really don't know. My first memory of them was looking for the series in my school's library in 3rd grade, but I don't remember why I wanted to read them. I know I had read them before third grade somewhere, but I can't remember where.

Hehe little kid books

My favorite would be a Sesame Street Book called
The Monster At The End Of This Book

It is grover and he is told there is a monster at the end of the book, so he tries to pin the pages together and stuff like that. And once you get to the end it turns out he was the monster

My favorite book as a kid was "Happy Winter". I loved that book to death I remember asking my mom to read that to me all the time. I still love that book everytime I look at it it reminds me of when I was younger and winter days.

Ooh, I loved that book when I was younger! The poor racoon, he was afraid to walk to school, thinking things like the bridge would collapse and sharks would eat him.

(That is, if I'm thinking of the same book. . .?)

My favourite childhood book is most definetly Goodnight Moon. I love it. My mom used to read it too me all the time when I was little before bed. Then she sold my copy of it at our garage sale years back. About 3 years ago though she bought me another copy of it for christmas.

There was this book that I was quite fond of, which I'm sure I still have lying around somewhere. I can't remember what it was called but it was about a rabbit losing her tooth or something along those lines.

Thanks to Google, I had no trouble finding the name of the book. It was called 'Little Rabbit's Loose Tooth' by Lucy Bate.

Books I read as a child or books designed for children?
When i was small my dad used to read Billy Bunter/Greyfriars stories to us, which i liked

I also read Jennings, Just William and Biggles which have a kind of childhood attachment for me.

Poor Grover was scared out of his mind top confront that monster.

I had one Serendipity book, "Buttermilk." I got it from the Easter Bunny. ^_^

My favorite one? "Are You My Mother?" comes to mind.
