According to Variety, the remake is going to be based on the original novels (which the original film by Miyazaki was based on). Sounds like it has potiential (of course I still love the orignial film <3)

I seem to recall that was just a rumor back when it was first released in the states.

Yeah, I figured that much. It still worries me, though. Actually, maybe that was one of the other Live Action remakes they are doing. Not Akira, but some other Sci-Fi robotish one.

Kiki's Delivery Service was the first anime movie I ever saw! It was such a great movie. =D However, I don't know if I could watch a remake. :(

I wonder when it's gonna come out...

That's just about the most basic anime movie. Who cares about live action? And the guy who plays the cat in the anime... he's dead. :cry: Oh well, I might watch it. But it just won't be the same. :(

Well wait a minute. If the live action movie is going to based off of the original novels and not the Miyazaki anime film, why is it called a remake?

Maybe because Kiki is a movie already, so they can't say The Movie? They could say The Live Action Movie, though.

It is a remake of the story.

I've about the Melissa Joan Heart rumor for this movie. O_O I don't know how I feel about this. Hopefully it comes out good, but I'm a bit skeptic. My good friend is a HUGE fan of the anime, I wonder if she knows about this yet?
