Couldn't find my dad.
Couldn't find my mom.

I tried under a name we use in the phone book and I found us. Apparently, it's names in the phone book.

All you basically get is a phone number and an address, and an aerial photo (unless you want to pay cash for something that's probably not that interesting anyway). Websites like whitepages.com (and similar sites for various countries) offer the same thing, only more updated, and with a broader geographic range, and greater searching capabilities (and other sites offer aerial photos, all you need is an address, which you can get from the white pages ;P). So I really don't see the big deal or the super-scary threat.
Yea, my dad is in there, and the information is about 10 years outdated. All of it. Plus they got his middle initial wrong.
