There are some very bitter people making commentary about the way this war was run. You certainly have the right to be angry and frustrated if you feel that you've been treated unfairly, but the sheer scale of hatefulness and name calling bothers me.

I was a frequent lurker on the IDB boards, but I would be ashamed of some of the filth and hatefulness that is being directed at the anonymous face of "TNT" there.

For pete's sake it's a game. And I can say that with the same sincerity I can say "it's just a job." Is this really worth all this hate? Maybe you should consider another hobby for a while if it is, and come back later when you have a few months perspective on the situation.

Err, sorry to go a bit off topic there.

I do like the sidebar and got that, and the triple blade sword, which is selling for about 400K in trades right now. I think it's 6 icons: 3 earth, 2 dark and 1-2 physical. I'll probably sell it if prices hold up.

As far as neggs, it might be worth picking a few up if prices drop to 5K or lower, since there's always the slim chance that they'll make them edible or equippable or exchangable at the neggery. There were a lot more maraquans than pirates, so the garin neggs will probably always be cheaper.

I'd love to get the banner, but what's the np value right now? o.o

The war, in the end, was patently unfair, and was heavily slanted towards rank 1 users, because they were able to get more prizes than the higher-ranked players, even though the higher-ranked players had put far more work into their pets and BD sets. When it comes to rewards for work, the ground rules should be that more work = higher rewards. And that's not the way things worked out here.

The simplest way for Neopets to fix this would have simply been to scale reward prices, so that they were more expensive for lower-rank users, since lower-rank users actually had HIGHER scores. But TNT didn't do that - and doing so will end up alienating a lot of older, established users.

I cannot believe i actually participated this. The supporter thing was not that bad at the start. The pictures of the opponents were pretty good. After that, all went downhill. We way we have to earn points were pathetic. Now, all the Rank 1 earn MUCH more den Rank 2 or Rank 3. Unfair. The reasons why people train their pets so much is to fight more opponents and kill more. If it is that way, everyone would rather remain rank 1! Insane

I'm a warrior, and recieved 10 whole points. I recieved a sidebar, and 9 keyrings for my efforts. (Well, due to a glitch I actually ended up with 14, but big whoop). My pet is approaching 175 HP, and 100 strength/defense. This is in no way fair, and I refuse to listen to ANY argument from any rank 1 warriors who think it is. When you think about it, each stat initially costs 5k (a codestone). Even ignoring the fact that the prices regularly inflate, and stats eventually cost more stones, just 175hp, 5k per hit point, costs 875,000np. For JUST hit points. IF it only costed 1 stone for all of them. I ended up with a 350np profit from my keyrings, and a crappy degrading trophy on my lookup. Way to go TNT. Way to go.

At the same time I must defend TNT, there is a large range of pets out there, from 5hp up to over 10,000hp. It's impossible to make ranks that would make everyone happy. So I sympathize. A little. Though I still strongly recommend we go back to the old system, where stronger pets got more points, and weaker pets... not so much. It's the only way to be fair. Because fair does not mean pets with 10hp and pets with 100hp should get the same points.

I also have a question, what was the determining HP+strength that determined you went into rank 2? I'd like to know which pet to choose next time so that I can be a rank 1 and have fun with the war. Assuming they're keeping this system.

I'm pretty sure it was like this:

If (def+str)/2 < 85, then rank = 1
If (def+str)/2 <500, then rank = 2

Not sure for supporters, but I understand it had to do with initial cash on hand.

when i went and saw the prizes i wanted to cry.. i was one of the lucky ones who got a token, i got a grand total of 19 points, all those points were from quests.. since i'm not that good at flash games, and am currently in the first week of my uni exams.. and should technically be studying rather than grizzling about this but..

i felt the supporter prizes didn't reflect how much more difficult it was for us to earn points compared to the warriors. i'm going to buy the sidebar and thats about it. also i felt a little peeved that i only got to see what trophy i achieved just now, so i've actually overshot on the one i wanted, went a little to far and got the next one up..

rank 2??? i kept most of my nps in a spare account as my kadoatie fund for my gallery, i've almost emptied it too... my quests averaged 70-80k overall

and maybe we are annoyed, angry and hghly peeved, but i think there is also some good reasons as to why people are annoyed. NEVER again will i do support. i could have gotten so many points with my current lab rat who has the most rounded stats, and the weapons i had.

i'm not rubbishing the plot though, it was pretty good, and i LOVED the artwork, its getting better every time, but it was just the system and the prizes which needed a little more consideration.

As far as I'm concerned, TNT spit in the faces of their users with the way they ran this war. Spit it somone's face, you're not going to get hugs and puppies back.

This is even true you spit in their in face over "just a game."

Because the anger isn't about the game. It's about the spit.

EDIT: Anyone know if the Maraquan banner is a neohome item? I gather it doesn't work in Neohomes yet, but if it might someday I may pick one up. I have a pet who would like it.
