It's cheap probably because of the effects of the ray. You can't sell the changed petpet, since when you remove it, it'll just revert back to the original. I suppose due to this and other regulations, the value was decreased.

That and I think a lot of people find the lab pieces every day.

When you think about it, the side effects of the petpet lab ray are mostly negative, that's why it's so cheap. You can't win the pppl (and since the only way to return the pet to normal is removing it, you pretty much null all the time it's been on there just by zapping it), you can't sell the zapped pet because it'll just revert to normal, and everyone knows you zapped the thing due to the large (in my opinion) message underneath the petpet's name.

Unlike the normal lab ray, it's just not a useful thing unless you want different looking petpets. Petpets don't have stats that can go up, don't have a gender, and not so many people care about petpets as much as their neopets when it comes to colour and species.

I'm betting it may go up if there ever becomes a good use for petpet levels...

hmm... the prices are falling everyday... i can find quite a lot of 6K pieces now! what is the lowest price which u thk the maps will fall to?

I think it will level out at some point around 3-5K per piece, making on par with the Spooky Map.
