Don't miss it. Ever since Mike Lazzo went on to produce [adult swim] that block plummeted straight down while [AS] has soared.

My first anime and manga was Ranma 1/2. My brother showed a little me Ranma before we switched up to the good stuff (Evangelion). In HS, one of my teachers had us do monthly book reports. He allowed graphic novels and trade paperbacks as long as it was okayed by him first. I tried asking him if a Ranma GN was okay. He said no. Two years later, I got out that GN. Re-read it, then started collecting from there.

My first manga I ever owned was Magical Pokemon Journey. ^^; It was all cute and shojo-ful... After that, I really got into CCS, which pretty much began the obbsession. Although now I read a lot more shonen manga.

The first anime I ever saw was Dragon Ball waaaay back when Goku's name was Zero and Bulma's name was Leena. My first impression was wow they aren't drawn very realisticly. Thier eyes are HUGE! I only saw about 2 episodes and then about 10 years later I actually knew what it was all about because it was on Cartoon Network. But the first Anime to get me interested in it was Pokemon. I know, I know, so many people hate it these days and denie that they ever liked it but I really did like Pokemon... up until around the Orange Island series. When I got interested in Pokemon my tastes in shows melted over to DBZ, Yu Yu Hokisho, Card Captors and a few other misc. anime shows. For a while I was really into anime and manga but since that time I've gotten my own things to do rather than keep up with the stuff.

D'oh! I just realized what my REAL first anime movie was, "The Last Unicorn" movie released in 1986 on VHS. The style wasn't exactly the same as most anime around today but sure enough it was anime even though it was originally in German.
