I joined in October 2000, played for a bit (was new to the whole interweb thing). Then I drifted away.
In November 2003 I spy someone in the IT room at school playing Neopets during the lunch hour, the bells of memory start a-tolling. I bring up the page and type in what I thought might be my username and password (it was the same as another site I was a member of)... BAM one 3 year-old account with some tasty things sitting in my inventory.

I've drifted a few times.
First time that I left Neopets on break (though it was unplanned... it just sort of happened) was after my first account got frozen for no reason. I was too angry to even consider being a part of Neopets still. The freezing happened when Neopets was on the Salem Freezing Trials, where they were just getting freeze-happy and abusing their power. Froze alot of good people. I stayed away for a good year.
Second break was another unplanned one, but not due to the action of Neopets. It was more like I just had other stuff I had to do that took priority. I was gone from neopets for about another year or so.
And I'm just returning to Neopets once more after being away/forgetting about it in the past six months, from which I've been busy with school and work. I'm not sure how I got the urge, but I was sitting today and just though, "Hm... I wonder how my Neopets account is doing."
Logged in, and remembered my account here so I returned to PPT as well, and am slowly bringing it all back together again. :-)

Been a member since August 6, 2000. So my account's nearing the 6 year mark. I played for maaaybe 1 year while I was still in elementary school. Then I moved north and left it for a long time. I just came back in January/February. So ..nearly 5 years break.
