You know, just my two cents, but I can only imagine that they are getting wayyy more scam reports right now, because if people don't know it's a global issue, they would think that the person they traded with somehow ripped them off.
I really hope they get something put up on the news page.
Incidentally, I seem to remember something bad happening a year or a couple years ago, where
so many people lost items and money that they actually reset the servers to a previous point in history, so that when you logged in it was like going back in time-- your money, items, etc were all as they had been a week previous or two days or whatever. Does anyone else recall this, when it was, etc?
People who had profited during the glitches were really ticked off when they lost it.... and I don't mean dishonest people, I mean folks who, for instance, happened to RS VERY expensive items. (and for clarity you see the item no longer appeared in their inventory, instead their account appeared exactly as it had looked the week before, with the new item being missing, but the money they spent on it was back in their bank too).
At any rate...
Basically just posting to say, have patience and
I suggest to lay low right now. Don't make any major changes to your account: don't purchase, sell, or use any high-ticket items; don't create or pound any pets... if you make changes to your user lookup or web page, make sure you have backed it up elsewhere in case it gets reset (of course that's just common sense!) For those who are losing shop items but not gaining money, I suggest shutting down for a day or two: set all the prices to 0 for now.
There is no guarantee that they will reset/restore the server(s), but I would err on the side of caution. This has affected tons of people.
Incidentally, my username begins with e, and I have not had any problems over the weekend. I had other problems with pages not loading properly in shops (ie I would hit the pay button but it wouldn't work) but I believe they were related to my premium membership.
