A Neopets Experiment

Hi I'm Katherine and this is my One Sloth Ruler experiment.What I do is I go out and put a Sloth Ruler up for trade and I wait for a slighly better offer and then I say yes to it.THen I do it again with the new item.My goal is a Striped Paintbrush.

One Sloth Ruler was inspired by jrtman's One Black Meowclops Pen experiment.

There are people that do that in real life. I remember hearing about some guy who bought some junk to sell on ebay. Then he sold that junk and used the money to buy some slightly better junk. Then he used that money to buy even more junk. His ultimage goal was to get a house or a car or something, but I forget if he did it or not. Technically it could work. It might be fun to try!

I believe that telling people really biases any experiment of this nature, turning it from scientific into grubbing.

Yeah..I remember a thread like, two/three weeks ago with pretty much the same concept as this.

It's an interesting little dealie, good luck reaching your goal. O_o;

Although maybe you should keep quiet about this on the actual site, or things may not go the way you plan. People could be over generous, at which point it then goes from being scientific to being a contest to see who can give you the most.

The experiment that you seem to be ripping off isn't from weeks ago. in fact, if you scroll down just a little bit, you'll see it.

Now, this is just my opinion, but i suggest you should hold off on this experieent. a single duplicate opens the door to a plague of duplicates. and if everyone does this, nobody will have any success with it at all. eg: if the One Red Paperclip guy had his idea copied so much, it would just open the door to scams. and that's what your experiment might do. now, it's admirable that you want the lab map. but to make a duplicate of someone else's valiant idea is probably not the way to go.

PrinceGrizzly (jrtman) is doing it to just see how far a meowclops pen could go. You are trying this for a goal to help you gain in neopets. If you change your goal to something other just because people are remarking on it, makes it even more seeming that you are doing it for moneytary (<-spelling?) values.

I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted. Maybe a bit of both is in order.

I really do not like the fact that some people think this is an easy way to make Neopoints and thus go out and try it. If you're looking to make money, earn it, don't try and take the easy way.

I'm doing this as an experiment and if I don't use the lab map to train pounded pets to put up for adoption I'm going to split up the money made off the set and donate it to the money tree 500NP at a time.

I'm not going to tell you to stop, but at least you know my feelings about it. Just know that the more people try to do this to make Neopoints the more my motives are going to come into question and I'm going to look like a bad guy.

i agree with that 100% expecially for the meowclops pen thing. the fact that not necesserally advertising it but you know... makes it hard to see if the actual experiment has worked.
