As long as Neopets doesn't force you to pay to play the site, which they don't, they are still considered a free site. Granted, there are features you have to pay for, but you don't HAVE to have them to play the site. You get extra goodies if you do, but you don't HAVE to have them.

Sending letters and raving about it along with all those petitions aren't going to change the minds of multi-millionare marketers and business men that have already signed who knows how many years worth of contracts with popular companies and Cingular.

Personally I think instead of complaining, this should just encourage you more to show that no matter what marketing schemes Neopets has, you'll still be the best you can in functionality.


And if all else fails.. just listen to some Miyavi. He'll cheer you up. :) <3

Lutaris are not exclusive to cellphone users. I got one. Just because cellphone users have access to the island and the Neopian times from thier phone does not mean that everybody else is missing out on anything.

Well, I just created my Lutari, so I am content. Still slightly annoyed with TNT, but content enough to not bother them about this atrocity right now.

that's just not my point of view... we all have different ones, or we wouldn't be here now.
i really think it's not fair, because i waited alot a time for the lutari island to be released, and now you have to be a *special* player to have it?
and the beads? you really think you'll have one million RE saying you got one? because they say that when you finish your ammulet you get more lucky.
this is shifting the scales, isn't it? and isn't neo against the idea that everyone has equal rights and ways to make money and all that? this is, to me, so fair as the beggers.

But again, that's just me...

I've been away for a week, so apologies if this has been discovered.

Do we know how to get these beads yet?
EDIT:

Mk, ignore me. I found the part - but it also says there's other ways that are 'yet to be discovered'.

How about we wait until it's actually completed, and we know these ways, before having a huge outrage?

I have Cingular and my phone is about 8 months old and it wouldn't let me sign up. I have a nice phone!

Anyway, the entire "referrals for beads, beads give you more luck" is disturbing. I have about the worst luck possible on the site (no good REs, no random avatars, perpetually bad Wheel spins) and I already feel like I'm a second-class Neopian behind the Premium users.

It's the same for premium, you don't get the huge prize packs until you hock the service to all of your friends. You do, however, have awesome luck with SHH events on the site. I win the lotto about 4 times a week in addition to all of the "rare" (not necessarily high value) items on the site. Things like WoE and WoK and the likes have stayed the same in terms of luck.

Mystery Island was the same way at one point. Just because we can't get there NOW, doesn't mean we can't get there later. We just have to wait and see where Neopets is going with this whole thing.

As for the rest of the Lutari stuff...eh. I'm not tantalized enough with the "exclusive" material to switch to Cingular's cell phone service.
