I don't think Hoban is a girl either. He does look more feminine than the others, but there are feminine guys out there. He's a seafaring Aisha bishounen. XD I don't get a feminine vibe from him at all...his facial expressions remind me of a grumpy Naruto.

Ok, i've read through the petpage with info on everything that's happened so far, and i see this thing about the "secret message", involving clicking the captain's eye. so i go to chapter 2, and find the frame, and click his eye over 211 times, but nothing happens. does anyone know if it still works, or what i could be doing wrong?

This rumour was spread around the neoboards because a lot of people don't understand how the comic is made.

I am no expert, but the numbers are part of the code used to make the comic, sometimes when you clicked back to the 1st chapter an error in the code would show the speech bubbles with numbers. It had nothing to do with clicking on the eye.

Another error was the Chefxxx error, where the comic would show the code-filler for the Chef's name (likely before he was named).

They never actually said they were headed there...after the storm, the captain says the only place to land is Krawk Island, they wouldn't make it to Mystery Island in their condition...I think (though I could of course be wrong) he meant that he didn't want to land on Krawk Island because it's full of pirates, but had no choice because the ship was so heavily damaged and they needed supplies.

Bonju is shown in the fourth panel of Chapter 2 (the one where Kentari is going out the door), standing beside the captain.

I do wonder why faerieland? I mean does Hoban have wings we dont know about too? He went overboard in a storm at SEA right? So why would you look for him in a cloud? Can he evaporate and become a cloud? o.o seriously now .... what the heck..... and this plot is beyond boring read a comic then wait a week for another.... ...*sigh*

It's not unheard of around Neopia for faeries to rescue those in distress, so it is actually a logical choice to look. Especially if the ship keeps disapearing and the faeries can't find it to return him to!

That error is completely different from the "secret message" that Euthie mentions. She also does mention the Chefxxx message, but she said that once you click on the eye enough times, this message comes up:



Also, people are saying that Hoban threatened to drive the ship into a storm because people were saying he was bad luck, but that can't be true! They were only saying that he was bad luck because after he said "i'll drive this ship into a storm", the ship was driven into a storm!
I think at least... that's what i got from it.

Aha! I remembered my point.

Which is this:

No more debate about hoban being disguised as a boy and actually being a girl and that being bad luck, yes it is traditional for women on board a ship to be bad luck, but that's a more westernised tradition and these sailors obviously have oriental influence.

Plus the Kougra's definately female (as can clearly be seen from the ku-jong page where she invites you to play her game) so it'd be kind of pointless for Hoban to pretend to be male if s/he was female as there's already a woman on the ship.

I know it's been said before but I felt it needed reiteration, especially with the Kougra definately being a girl point.

EDIT: I'd put money on that screenie being a fake. There's no way TNT would allow phoenetic speech written that inconsistently onto the plot - even if it was only a hidden message.
