Funny you should ask, as I own one, and I've been thinking about getting her another petpet.
Though I'll miss Beebo the Magaral (later Sir Beebo - he got 'knighted' when she was painted Royal
), he's been her petpet literally for years. Ideally, I just want to paint him Faerie or Pink or something. You have no idea how disappointed I was months ago when I heard Magarals were getting new colors, and none of them were ones that matched Royal.
As you can see, formwise, they're a good match. Note their feet, their ears, the teeny nose and mouth, and the fluffiness of their hair. Magarals are also relatively inexpensive and low rarity. But the major flaw here is color - those shades of purple juuuuust aren't quite the same.
The best color match by far, so far, is the Faerie Minitheus. Unfortunately it's also one of the most expensive. But if you love it and price doesn't matter, then by all means go for it. The Faerie Baby Fireball is one of my favorites so far - it's got some of the same colors and detail as the Acara and thus complements it nicely. (I also like it for reasons that stem from my own pet's personality and hobby.) Other Faerie petpets that I considered:

Here's another pairing I considered based on form and personalities. (And being dirt cheap.) You'll probably notice right off the bat it's a poor color match, though. But, you never know, there may be some Altachuck colors in the future that would look great. Just something to consider. Finally, a few more petpets I looked at:
