I really love the Ravenous Monster's art. It's kind of sad to see it next to the new pets though.

I don't know, it's not much fun beating a "ravenous monster" that doesn't attack that much.
I beat it 83 times. And with Garoo Elite Blaster, G-bomb and burrow as first attack, I could probably defeat him another 50 times or so, before it becames a challenge.

Guess I will wait for a probable second wave...

I get so paranoid equipping that to my pet. ...now I have a 18-hitpoint pet with a RotL... *snicker*

Two questions going on right now.

First, did the 'go to puzzle' button disappear for everyone, or just the people that completed it?

Second, what were the 'max wins' for the last plot's opponents again?

I still have the Obsidian Dagger I used in the last plot, and that seems to be kicking his butt nicely (along with the leaf shield).

I hope they're not going to focus on battling as much in this plot. I like doing puzzles and the like, but I'm not a battler. My strongest pet has 11 HP. XD I'm slowly trying to raise his stats, but it takes so much time and money.

'As much'? The last plot didn't focus on battling very much at all. It was optional, and even then only one of three optional bonus parts.

This opponent is well thought-out. Just tough enough to be a challenge to the lowest lvl pets, but vulnerable to various easily accessible strategies so that anyone should be able to beat it at least once with some efford.

Anyone else seeing the Ravenous Monster as a cross between the Meridell Spyders from the days of yore, a Grundo, and a Grub? :P

In the previous plots they had 'win limits' for battledome opponents... I haven't done any other plot that requires battling, but is there always a limit for how many times you can defeat an enemy? I'd hate to be battling all day long if the win limit is only like 10 or so... o_O

As far as I can remember, only the last plot had a limit, and it stopped you from fighting the opponent altogether. So there shouldn't be anything to worry about untill you're stopped. (Of course, knowing TNT they've changed it this time)

I know. I hate to waste my time. But I can beat him in 1 turn thankfully, so it shouldn't take very long to beat him a lot.

This would be nice:

They defeat the giant bug and make it to the river. Roxton, being a Lutari and all, just hikes up his pant legs and is preparing to wade or swim across. He puts his pack on his head. In the next panel, he poses with one leg dramatically over the water, as Lillian rushes forward and says "Stop!" Just as one toe is about to enter the water, she pulls him back.

Then she says "We need to test that water first, sir! You don't know what could be living in there!" Then she pulls out a large hunk of meat and lowers it into the water with a rope. There is a swirling and churning. She picks the rope up, and there are all these pyranas eating the meat, the one leaps up and bites through the rope, coming dangerously close to her hand. Then the meat and rope fall back into the water and disappear forever.

And Roxton, instead of being grateful just makes a joke like "And to think you were carrying that large peice of meat this whole time!"

I could (and probably will) keep doing this all day (except for when I go to bed... I'm sure you all know what I mean).
Admittedly, I only just finished hitting him a 20th time, but all but 2 have been 1-hits.

*keeps clicking*

I really should have trained my pet more, but without plots I don't feel like being active on neopets. I'm hoping for at least 50 wins over this monster.

I hadn't noticed any restrictions about fighting opponents at all. I was still able to fight opponents during the waves. It wasn't until the end, when the scores were calculated, that TNT had made cut-offs at a certain number of wins for each opponent. Most likely you wouldn't get any points for wins above that maximum number.

Then again, I still have no idea how they calculate scores or decide on cut-offs or whatever.. I guess I should just keep going
