Perhaps singing a song like Nightwish's "She Is My Sin", Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" or even songs by El Divo will really show off your voice.

Except I don't know any of those songs :P

Well, you could perhaps take a listen to them? It doesn't have to be those songs, but songs which fit your voice. If you listen to at least two of them, you'll notice what songs would fit your voice nicely.

Um, I posted my entry on April 25th...I don't know how it was not included in the list. Please judge me!

Perhaps because you're more awake at night? There isn't really any explanation to why you sing better at night versus the morning.

If you're using XP, try going to control panel, security settings, then tweak your firewall or something... your security must be set pretty high if you can't do simple downloads.

It's actually set at "Medium"; I can download other songs and what not without trouble but it's just your songs which are causing me difficulty.

Thanks bluez for the link.

I have rated both now (I was at my sister's house this weekend hence my late ratings for both Kym and DragonDoodie).

As for tips, it really depends on the singer but I do know in order to develop your breathing patterns, listen to rap music. Learn a rap song and it'll actually help you to control your breathing. It's a nifty way to expand your lung power in order to take on full blown ballads and the like.

Again, take these with a grain of salt, as all I know about singing is from high school chorus, and I spent more chorus classes writing notes to my friends. And that was like almost ten years ago. Holy nikes, I'm getting old.

[blueZ]
Good job. You did better when the notes were steady, it seemed like when there a was a progression you kinda lost it. But good song choice.
7.5/10
[Kym]
For some reason, this reminded me of Marilyn Monroe singing to the president. So anyway, it was hard to separate your voice from the others, but it was very good. The song didn't really show it off, though.
8/10
[Fiddelysquat]
First, I had to sneak a listen of Santeria, as that's one of my absolute favorite songs to sing in the car. I love the melody of it, such a fun song.
Now to your entry. Great job! I like the song choice, and I thing you hit all the notes well. Maybe a little more energy, but that's about it.
9/10
[DragonDoodies]
Great song, although I don't know that it was the best choice. The high notes sounded weird, but I liked the rest.
7.5/10
[wereup]
Amazing! Such a nice song, too. You have a great voice. Keep it up!
9.5/10
[WIS]
Wow, you have a deep voice. I think there songs out there that would be better suited to your voice, and it does sound like you have a bit of a cold. But good job.
7.5/10
[pipsqueeek]
Good job! You seem to have a good range. I liked the song, but I'd like to hear one that you can have a little more fun with.
9/10
[mayanspypilot]
Nice! It's a simple song, but you did it well. I'd like to see a more complicated song that'll let you show off, but it was a consistent effort.

I had an idea which we may want to consider-- why not let the contestants be judges? Obviously we would not judge our own, but we could judge everyone else's, and thus get a much better cross section of votes.

I'm not saying that anyone here is a cheat, but usually it's a bad idea to give other contestants sway over their competition's scores.

Exactly; plus various contestants could form pacts not to give one another low scores and the like. It's too risky.
