I'm thinking that the short time between puzzles has something to do with that program. TNT really can't tell who used it and who didn't, so this might be a mild form of 'punishment'.

But, isn't that punishing the people who didn't use it? (in general - if you'd completed the step on your own before the next one came out, it wouldn't have made a difference)

Doesn't make sense though, does it? Beacuse the people who cheated to finish weren't punished by moving to the next step so quickly. The people who sweated to work it out longhand even though they wern't good at it (so it took a long time) were panicked the most about getting to the next step. The innocent suffer and the cheaters get ahead.

I agree that they probably moved up the next step because so many people got done so quickly, though. :(

Edit: Wow. Beat me to it! :)

you just have to get through one of the 3 mods without the O and then find the 3 mod with the O that is commander garoos message. that's how i got to the next step, i didnt touch the other 3 mods at all. I picked the O mod that was long and got lucky. after about 2 hours of work though.

On this advice I only did one 3 mod without O and then solved one with O. But it was just a regular message. I don't see one of the remaining 3 with O that is longer than any other. So I guess I have to just work through them. What message appears when you get the right one? and what happens then- does "continue" appear or what?

Once you get a message that talks about the shuttles, you're done. If you refresh the page, you'll get the TBC message.

Edit: Here's the required message:
My Lord, We've begun moving the civilians to the transport shuttles as planned. The public decks are secure although we've had some trouble finding our way around the maintenance levels; there could still be traitors hiding in that maze. Nonetheless, the shuttles will be ready to launch shortly, and then we won't have to worry about the civilians anymore. -Commander Garoo

Thank you, Pickles!

*sigh* I just solved a second 3 mod with O and still didn't get the right message. Is there any way to tell which of the remaining two is the correct one?

My fingers are sore, and I am getting very grumpy. :(

Unfortunately, I don't think there is: I think they're randomly assigned to the numbers 1-20.

I do not wish to repost but no one has answered my question:

However here is my question. It seems that people are still worried about being frozen either from using the program before it was proclaimed illegal. Or by finishing the level 3 puzzles in relatively few attempts. Has anyone any knowledge of anyone's account being frozen since the announcement other than the gentleman who created the program in the first place?

If not I would hazard a guess that as long as we all play fair there will be no random freezings
for simply finishing a section in an above average time. Relax and enjoy the plot.

Okay, here's quick links to different people's ways of explaining it (over the last couple days):

In case you want the math side of it, here's my Base 7 explanation

Hope that helps!

Those who were frozen either posted the link or publicly admitted it on the boards. And those who claim to be frozen on the NeoBoards (and we know how accurate they are) have no proof. If they used the calculator the best thing you can do for your account is sit tight, keep your mouth shut, and hope not to be frozen.

Yay! I finally got the last message! Considered breaking the remaining two, but figured I'd go crazy if I tried...lol
