Maybe. Maybe they'll give Unix users a second chance? (hah, yeah right)

And yes, it is that bad. Of course, I'm biased by the fact that I do computer support.

GAH! So I just tried playing Dungeon Dash again, this time with the game embedded (and in firefox). Those glitches are disgusting! Kudos to those of you who stuck by it and kept trying again and again to beat the game without giving up - I know I couldn't have done it! I guess I was lucky because during Daily Dare the game ran fine for me so I didn't have to experience any of the glitches until now  .

On a slightly unrelated note - does anyone have any idea why my hi-score for Dungeon Dash would be 2,234 when the Daily Dare page acknowledges the 5000 point win? I don't recall ever submitting another score later on...

:( A combination of factors (the largest being that our Internet connection went down the night of the 23rd) prevented me from doing the last 8 days of the DD.

I think the high scores got messed up -- for a whole bunch of games, my all-time high score is listed as 80 on the games page. When I go to "my scores," though, they're accurate. In that list, my DD high score is listed as 5k - grand master. (I only noticed this because I just did a world challenge and was comparing scores for various games to my high scores to see which would be easiest -- I chose Hungry Skeith -- I really only needed to send one score, and I'd have won the top prize).

I'd definitely say something went wacked out with our high scores. *All* of mine, no matter what game, are currently at 747. But my high scores list is still correct.
Ah well. They'll fix it.

BTW, now, if you play DD with Abi, you can *only* get a score of 4000 - the levels are only 800 points long instead of a full 1000.

From the latest Neopian Times Editorial:

Hey TNT. I'm sure you've been getting tons of questions and flames about the glitch that occurred in the Dungeon Dash game for Mac users and some Linux users. Is there going to be some sort of opportunity for us to play again once the glitch is fixed, or is it just going to be an unfortunate casualty to avoid next year? I'd rather have a "Sorry, you're outta luck" response from you guys than none at all. No, really! I can handle it. :) Thanks. ~starryeyedq
This was totally our bad, and we're extremely sorry about the glitch that wouldn't allow players to finish the game. Unfortunately, we can't offer you guys a second try due to a variety of issues it would cause. We feel simply awful about it and will be certain to test all formats before similar events. Sorry we let you guys down. :(

....well, they acknowledged it and apologized, at least.

But the fact still remains that it never should have happened in the first place. I probably would have been a lot more sympathetic if Neopets were a smaller pet site that had only been around for a year or so, and had a handful of volunteers running it instead of paid staff. Or if this had only been the second or third time they've majorly screwed up something due to rushed work and poor planning.

But it isn't, it hasn't, it doesn't, it hasn't been. There is NO excuse for this. NONE.

....yeah, I'm sorry, I'm still mad. I know I shouldn't be, but I am. I just hope that whatever the bonus prize is, I don't want it so badly that I go out and buy it. I don't want to and should NOT have to pay for something I could have earned for free by my own efforts, if everything had been functioning properly.

What I really hope is that it doesn't lessen the prizes we earned otherwise. If it does, I'l be steamed!! :x :x :x

So womans 1000NP is 800... nothing said Abagail is supposed to be easier mode. Almost thought neopets had shortened the game and current highscore was impossible. Thanks to this thread I could do the 5000 with AAA, that I would never have chosen as char to play as.

For the last level, you need all the tools (except the shovel if you choose so).
For the floor traps you must use bubble. This will cause you to bounce, you may need to use bubble again if you land on it again. The shovel can be used to destroy some of these traps I've heard, but I've not tried it myself.
For the green neopet you use the green shield.
For the orange neopet you use the orange helmet. (color to color).

Remember that you can use them all in air.

... Abigail is the younger sister... AAA is the "games master"... yes... she is supposed to be easier. if it was the other way around it would be exactly the same scoring. please lose the feminist paranoia -_-;.

I highly doubt that's what's going on in micce89's post. If you noticed, he/she is from Finland, and it's very very likely that English is their second language. That's just a way of expressing what's going on. I thought it was a very helpful post, and covered the main tips for getting through the last section of the game quite well.

Can anyone else get to dungeon dash? It disappeared from the games room "new games" area, and when I tried to link to it from the home page, it said it's not available...

Maybe TNT read all of the PPT posts on how nobody here would ever play that game ever again?
