Do the Pro's outweigh the Con's?

#1 Post by Katherine »

I was looking back at old topics, and I saw this one.

The answer was yes back then, but now, is it diffrent? How many PPTers really play Neo anymore?

I play less and less each day, it seems. I'm going to join a main market mall and just do that because of the short amount of time I need each day to work on it. I am sick of all the rules, all the NC Mall stuff, and TNT seemingly ignoring the important things (Battledome glitches, CGers, etc.)

I try to do my dailies when I remember, and Key Quest has definitely re-sparked my interest somewhat. My new-found free time due to no longer moderating also frees me up to play more. But it seems that Maple Story is winning the battle right now for my free time a bit more than Neopets.

I'm still playing the same as ever, I guess. :) Not this week or for another couple weeks, but that's because it's getting near the end of the semester and I have all kinds of things I have to do that are a leeeetle more important than Neo right now. I also recently got my mom into Neopets and it's a fun way to keep in touch off of the phone.

Not to mention there's still a lot on the site that I have yet to check out, and plan to when I have a little more time (buhhhh like in 2012). I've never played Neoquest, World Challenge, or Keyquest yet for example, heh.

*shrugs* Meh. A couple of dailies (rarely all of them), watching my stocks go up and down but not feeling like selling it, and playing a game every now and then. Probably the most fun part of Neo for me is when I can just give a Neofriend something for their gallery that I think they'll like, or organise something like the Halloween 'Monster Under Your Bed'. Granted, those are very fun to do, but for the most part, Neo has become somewhat of a drag for me.

I'm still playin' about the same as ever. :) I still do dailies, play several games, play Keyquest (SO much fun!), do World Challenges, and participate in major and miniplots (in fact, I look forward to them a lot). Over the last year, I got myself into some of the HTML games like Neoquest (completed both all the way through, and NQII on evil several more times), as well as Invasion of Meridell. I'm still actively training one of my pets, and have actually kinda gotten into customization as of late. Haven't really had a chance to style up my new neohome, but it's on my to-do list - I've got a ton of ideas for it! I also have a tendency to collect items semi-randomly...and then hoard them. :P
I've come to an acceptance of the NCMall (along the lines of, it's there - if you want to use it, use it, if not, don't), and more recently have admittedly spent a little money in there (since my husband got us both a card to spend with).
Part of the thing more recently is that it's been rather rewarding to see some of my goals met and hard work pay off. Plus, I've had fun gifting to others in the meantime. :)

I really just collect interest, play expellibox, and participate in plots (no matter how small) nowadays.

I still play neo pretty consistently. I dont restock like I used to because I sleep at night now. I used to restock 1am-6am my time because it was slow and easy. Im still really into avatar collecting, and just got the Collector Avatar recently. I like to train and buy customizing things for my pets. I do dailies every day and update my screenies page every few weeks. And Im finishing my 6th game of NQ2 Evil. The cons arent really bugging me much right now.

Occasionally, I'll do full dailies and play some games and stuff, but that's getting rarer and rarer for me.

Usually, I just go on and:
-check the news
-do the lab rays,
-go to the healing springs
-collect interest at the bank
-collect the Tarla item when there's an alert

I do play more when there's a plot or site event, but even then, it has to keep my interest.

I think I'm just bored with the site. It seems like there's just not much going on a good majority of the time. It's really hard to make money too. Not that I want it to be like Subeta, but imo, Neopets is like, the other extreme. I've been playing sites with more of a middle ground between the two and I find that I really enjoy them more.

I mostly just do my dailies each day out of habit. I have all of them "bookmarked" and I pretty much blow through them all in about 5 minutes. If I have more time, I'll do some RS'ing, play Bilge Dice or look for new items that I can put into my gallery, but that's about it. I have not been zapping my pets or petpets lately just because I'm happy with the pets the way they are at the moment. I do look forward to the plots though. Plots bring me back every time no matter how small they might be.

I also have noticed that PPT has been pretty slow lately, too. Plots seem to bring us PPTers back to post a lot more in general, not just for the plot related stuff.

EDIT: P.S. For what its worth, only about a third or so of the posters in the old post have logged in to PPT since April '08.

The only con, really, about Neopets is me. I'm too lazy to play games on a regular basis. I want more NP do to fun stuff with, but I can't be bothered to actually play the games. And I really like some of them too. It's also more difficult because I only have a touchpad for my laptop, which really puts me off of playing games.

Man, I'm lazy.

I think that over the past year I've played a little bit less than I used to. BUT!
I go through periods of playing a lot (when I have free time/no finals/no classes/no work) and then hardly playing at all and just doing dailies.
The fact there hasn't really been an interesting plot in awhile has made me a little upset. Altador cup was just bah this year, the game master thing sucked because prizes weren't given out fairly.. and the petpet park thing was just a distraction.
I'd say I've taken a bit more of an interest lately because I've set distinctive goals for myself. I started collecting stamps, I am almost done with my cupcake gallery, I started playing NQ2, and I like zapping pets to put into the pound for other players.
Sadly though, unless neo does something soon to spark my interest, I can easily say I won't be playing much after I graduate college (and that's really sad, because I've been playing for over 6 years! GAH!) :( :(
