Quija Boards

#1 Post by KPpinky05 »

To me, Quija boards are really, really scary. :o I think so cuz when I researched about it, many people who played it died or either stayed as far away from it as they could!

What do ya think about 'em? o_O

I never used one, but I believe it is "Ouija" not "Quija". :)

It is Quija if you play the white magic version. The other spelling is playing with evil spirits. :D

Well... since I don't believe in magic, or otherworldly powers...
I'd have to say I think Ouija... is a load of hokey.

Yup.
Hokey.

Coming from someone who's built Oujia boards and used them for years, this statement is complete and total crap. Seriously. It's like saying there is white and black magic. No such thing. Please, do more research.

Lol. I don't know where you've heard that, but the Ouija spelling does not mean you are "playing with evil spirits". :)

I've used ouija boards many times with both positive and negative results. The first time I met my spirit guide was through a ouija board. I had some stupid friends in high school who got us into a lot of trouble with a board. >.<

My grandmother gave me her old board. :) One story I remember her telling me was one time her and her sisters were using the board. The entity they spoke to was called "Sam". Well, they asked a bunch of questions and then one of them got the idea to ask for racing numbers. They were just fooling around, but they went to the track later and played three of the four numbers Sam gave them. They won a decent amount on each and stopped while they were ahead. It's too bad they didn't play on the forth horse as well because that one won, too. :)

Unfortunately, her board was lost. I do have a new board. :) It's *so* pretty. I've had it for years, but I haven't used it yet because of all my friends and I went through before. I don't like the idea of using it with the girls in the house.

Here is my gorgeous board:

The planchette has the Tree of Life design on it as well. :) The gold accents are really pretty as well as the butterflies, doves, and such on the tree itself. :)

Here is where you can find more beautiful boards:

Some of those are just simply gorgeous. <3 If I were to get another, I think it'd be the Victorian Rose board. :)

I have my own hand made board, no, I do not have a picture of it since it's private. I use it for divination and to talk to my own spirit guide from time to time. On the back is a small chant for opening/closing the portal that is opened by the board, and even the ink used to make the letters on the board has a personal touch for me. :) I love my board and I would never ever ever give it up.

Well, I'm sorry, but your uncle is wrong. I've been studying ouija boards for a long time as well. Some may believe that and good for them, but that is not true for every board using the spelling "ouija".

Well, then. I guess he'll have to explain that.... if you can help me investigate his theory.

There's no such thing as a quija board. A simple web search will tell you that.

"Quija" also doesn't come up in the Dictionary while "Ouija" does. The definition itself of "Ouija" also doesn't make any reference to good or evil, simply a reference to "spirits".

I've mucked around with Ouija Boards before but never seriously and I've never gotten results (maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't exactly take the concept seriously enough to invite anything?). My friends and I considered getting one to use in one of the rooms in her flat because everyone says it feels different to the other rooms but we decided against it and to stick to the side of caution because a number of people have said that not only does it feel different but it feels restless, creepy, dodgy and evil (it suceeded in creeping out a friend who doesn't believe in anything whatsoever so I think that says something).

The word Ouija is a comination of the words for "yes" in French (oui) and German (ja).

Lots of "researchers" with axes to grind can say all kinds of things, but it doesn't make it so.
