If you lost your account...

If your account were frozen or hacked, and there was virtually no hope of getting it (or anything from it) back, would you start over on Neopets?

Heh. I actually did.

On one half it's quite refreshing and you're reminded that it's just a virtual game that shouldn't dominate your life. There are many new changes that TNT has added for newbies and creating a account. Also, it's a cure for boredom at the office.

On the other hand, it's kinda sad that you lost what you've earned for 6+ years (avatars, sidebars, valuable items, neopoints, and other things you spend effort/time on).

Ehh...I guess I'm not as tied down as other players...=\

this is the 2nd time I've had to start over. I lost my 1st account to a hacker and was never able to get it back (which I'm still very bitter over).

I was lucky this time and had my account restored after nearly 4 years of not logging in. (Emily from the neopets team, you're my hero!).

so I'm pretty sure if I lost this account I'd be done with it. Theres too many things I care about on my current one. I have an Ona Marco gave me and a Weewoo Ven gave me (and i l-o-v-e weewoos!). I've worked hard to paint all of my pets and slowly save NPs for the things I want. I'm proud of the account I've built in the 6 years I've had it.

I said yes probably, because no matter how much I think I'm not addicted to/care about Neopets...I am/do. From where I'm at now, I can say yes I'd restart, but after suffering an immense loss, who knows what I would think?

No absolutely. I have wasted so much of my life to Neo, I am trying to gradually stop playing anyway, so that would be a reason to stop playing Neo, and start on my site and get my GH2 ranking up on ScoreHero.

I forgot the password to my old account previously, and pretty much left neo for a while. I got bored of all the other games, though, so I created a new account, if just to play a few Neo games. One thing led to another, and soon I was getting pretty attached to my new account. I've found the password to my old one, but the new one's my main now, and I barely ever touch the old one anymore.

I said No (probably). My account wouldn't be impossible to rebuild, but what I'm really attatched to are my main accounts pets. It is silly, but I've spent 7 years taking care of those pixels, and I'm not sure my game play would be able to remain the same if I didn't have them to deal with.

Plus I'd have to think of a new username, and I hate doing that.

I wouldnt start over. I'd constantly remember all the things I used to have, and be frustrated that I didnt have them anymore.

I don't think I would. I have the same account I've had for years, done a lot on it, gathered a modest amount of wealth.
If I lost everything I'd be pretty unhappy about it. And with the way Neopets has been going toward, I highly doubt I'd bother to start again.

Nope. I might make an account to come in to play a game or two occasionally, but I've spent 7 1/2 years on this. I think it would break my will to play seriously if I lost it all.

I'm the same way. I've had my oldest pets since I created my account, and it just wouldn't feel like neopets to me if I didn't have the same pets.

I voted No(probably) because, I'm would be angry for wasting all that time and hard work I put into my account. Especially the plot stuff and retired avvies.

My account have been scammed before and I did start over. Now I trust no one. The account that got stolen is now probaly worth over 10m now. Sad, once I think back.
