It will be as it was last year (as it has been for all recent site events, and does not have to be done to finish the regular quest), the NC part runs sidebyside with the regular part.

Last year we had Masks of Dread - you picked a mask, follow the clues, get a prize. Do this for 5 days in a row and get the bonus mask.

It does state that "some Neopians are still setting up", which means the regular event has yet to start.

Going by Jellyneo reports (they have found images), we are having Masks of Dread again (but with different masks and clues).

These masks are keepable and wearable.

Ah, okay, thanks, Daze. I can never read the FAQs on anything on Neopets. I clicked, and the only message I got was that I needed a NC-something-or-other to enter the area, and I saw at the top that it had a mini-plot-esque description. Phew.

I opened all my trick-or-treat bags. I only got spooky food (ionized onion, ghost wrap), The Ixi Ghost Legend, Haunted Diary, and ghostly torch (3 copies of each book, 3 torches, and one of each food). So... the bags may be worth more than the items inside, if you're unlucky. Ah, well. It was fun.

Heh. I rarely open my bags. I would imagine that I have several years worth of bags safely tucked away in my SDB.
